pretty awesome.
30-shot sniper rifle + guitar! + better/actually powerful-sounding weapons. and the magnum.

i do like the new guns and their sounds. i'm also a huge fan of the machete. alas, i have serious distaste for the music (namely the horde music). i understand in keeping with the theme they needed to change it, but honestly, they could have done better.
I loved loved loved the demo, which is great because now I will really be looking forward to when the game comes out. I love that there are day light maps. It was so much easier to see what’s going and all the detail of the infected plus it’s less dreary and depressing. The defibrillator is a really neat option and I’m very interested in seeing how that will effect vs, although choosing to have it puts you down one health kit and gives the team a choice to make because I’m not sure how that will effect the health bonus or if using it will be a bonus in itself or not. I think the tank will be easier in vs with a vomit/moli combo being thrown, but that charger will make up for that big time. He knocks you hard and far. He cracks me up! Can’t wait to play him as infected.
I was a bit disappointed with the spitter which I thought would change the game play more but it really didn’t, although we were playing on normal and it wasn’t much of a corner camping group. There we some server issues wit connecting and what not, and I had some lag issues but all in all loved it and I think it will be well worth all the drama it has caused since it’s announcement. I will defiantly be giving the demo another run through tonight. Fun game.
I agree with you Lady. It was odd playing in the light but I did think it was a nice change to see things in better detail. I like how they are trying new things with event situations. No longer just making a loud noise, backing up against a wall and shooting. Running for your life to go shut off the alarm was fun. The Jockey is a blast and I like how small he is and always seems to pop out of nowhere. The variety of guns is great and I'm excited to try out the grenade launcher and chain saw.
There are a few little things I didn't like but they are little annoyances and don't affect my enjoyment that much. How do you pick up a melee weapon, drop your only pistol, and then later in the game when you are incapacitated pull out a pistol? You do not keep one. I've checked this a few times...just silly observation. As I posted above, your hands look HUGE and guns are bulkier. I think L4D1 looks better in that area.
viewmodel_fov is locked at 50, which is why the weapons look ginormous. i'm pretty sure it's at 54 in l4d, and it's 54 default in TF2 but not locked. not like anyone can cheat by changing viewmodel fov so it doesn't look like the weapon is two inches from your face.
What's most important here is that now the infected you kill will dyke out. Easily the most important update and alone, worth 50 bucks.
it is quite awesome to bind "upgrade_add incendiary_ammo" and "give health" along with +attack to your fire button, and turn on director_panic_forever.
